When we plug in the appliances, even though they are not turned on, there will be electricity flowing constantly to the appliances. Therefore, if you are not watching the TV, or listening to that radio of yours, turn them off AND unplug them to help save the energy.
Appliances to really watch out for are things that have timers, remote controls or clocks. A DVD player flashing 12:00 all day is not only useless, it's also costing you money.
